Preparing for Your First Suppressor or SBR Purchase
Buying your first suppressor, silencer, or short-barreled rifle can feel confusing at first, but the process is much easier when your accounts and paperwork are set up correctly from the beginning. Stonebridge Gunworks helps Missouri customers select the right NFA item, complete the Silencer Shop and ATF eForms steps, digitally certify the Form 4, and complete final pickup after approval.
We offer both in-stock suppressors and special-order options. If the model you want is not listed in our live inventory, we can help you order through our direct manufacturer channels or through Silencer Shop with Stonebridge Gunworks selected as your local dealer.
No additional Stonebridge Form 4 processing fee: NFA items purchased directly through Stonebridge Gunworks or ordered through our Silencer Shop dealer link and transferred to us qualify for our normal partner process.
Outside NFA transfers: If you purchase an NFA item from another outside source and transfer it to Stonebridge Gunworks, the NFA transfer fee is $80, or $40 for Active Duty Military and Law Enforcement Officers.
How the Suppressor Buying Process Works
- Choose your suppressor or NFA item. You can purchase from our in-stock suppressor inventory, order through Stonebridge Gunworks, or use our Silencer Shop dealer link.
- Create your Silencer Shop account. This account manages your purchase, photo, fingerprints, profile, and dealer assignment.
- Create your ATF eForms account. This is the federal account used for electronic Form 4 and Form 1 submissions.
- Make sure both accounts match exactly. Your full legal name, address, email, and personal details should match between Silencer Shop and ATF eForms. Small differences can cause delays.
- Stonebridge assigns the item to your Silencer Shop account. Once the suppressor is assigned to your dashboard, we will help you move through the electronic paperwork process.
- You digitally certify your eForm 4. You will need your ATF eForms User ID and your 4-digit PIN. Your ATF User ID is not the same thing as your email address.
- Wait for ATF approval. After submission, the application is reviewed by ATF. You can check current estimated processing times here: ATF current processing times.
- Book your pickup appointment after approval. Once your approval email is received, you will complete the final 4473 transfer and pickup by appointment.
Before You Start: Create Two Required Accounts
Most first-time suppressor buyers need two separate online accounts before the paperwork can be completed:
1. Silencer Shop Account
Your Silencer Shop account manages your purchase, profile, photo, fingerprints, dealer selection, and paperwork dashboard.
What you will need:
- Full legal name as shown on your government ID
- Email address
- Phone number
- Residential address
- Government-issued photo ID
- Passport-style photo
- Fingerprint submission through a Silencer Shop kiosk or approved method
Start here: Stonebridge Gunworks Silencer Shop dealer link.
2. ATF eForms Account
Your ATF eForms account is required for electronic NFA submissions, including Form 4 suppressor transfers and Form 1 applications.
What you will need:
- Personal information matching your Silencer Shop account
- Email address
- Username and password
- Security questions
- ATF eForms User ID
- 4-digit ATF PIN
Start here: ATF eForms.
Important: Save your ATF eForms User ID and 4-digit PIN. You will need both when it is time to certify and digitally sign your eForm 4. Dealers cannot recover your ATF login credentials or PIN for you.
