Preparing for Your First Suppressor or SBR Purchase

Buying your first suppressor, silencer, or short-barreled rifle can feel complicated, but the process is much easier when your accounts, paperwork, fingerprints, and dealer assignment are set up correctly from the beginning.

Stonebridge Gunworks helps Missouri customers select the right NFA item, order through our available channels, complete the Silencer Shop and ATF eForms steps, certify the Form 4, and complete final pickup after approval.

Stonebridge or Silencer Shop Orders

NFA items purchased directly through Stonebridge Gunworks or ordered through our Silencer Shop dealer link and transferred to us qualify for our normal partner process.

No additional Stonebridge Form 4 processing fee applies to qualifying Stonebridge or Silencer Shop orders.

Outside NFA Transfers

If you purchase an NFA item from another outside source and transfer it to Stonebridge Gunworks, the outside NFA transfer fee is $80.

Active Duty Military and Law Enforcement Officers receive the reduced outside NFA transfer fee of $40.

How the Suppressor Buying Process Works

1. Choose Your Suppressor or NFA Item

You can purchase from our in-stock suppressor inventory, order through Stonebridge Gunworks, or browse through our Silencer Shop dealer link.

2. Create Your Silencer Shop Account

Your Silencer Shop account manages your purchase, profile, photo, fingerprints, dealer selection, and paperwork dashboard.

3. Create Your ATF eForms Account

Your ATF eForms account is required for electronic NFA submissions, including suppressor Form 4 transfers and Form 1 applications.

4. Make Sure Both Accounts Match

Your full legal name, address, email, and personal details should match between Silencer Shop and ATF eForms. Small differences can cause delays.

5. Stonebridge Assigns the Item

Once the suppressor is assigned to your Silencer Shop account dashboard, we will help you move through the electronic paperwork and certification process.

6. Certify Your eForm 4

You will digitally certify your eForm 4 using your ATF eForms User ID and 4-digit PIN. Your ATF User ID is not the same thing as your email address.

7. Wait for ATF Approval

After submission, the application is reviewed by ATF. Current estimated processing times can be checked on the official ATF current processing times page.

8. Book Pickup After Approval

Once your approval email is received, book an appointment with Stonebridge Gunworks. At pickup, we will complete the final 4473 transfer and release the approved item.

Create These Two Accounts Before Submission

Most first-time suppressor buyers need two separate online accounts before the paperwork can be completed.

Important: Save your ATF eForms User ID and 4-digit PIN. You will need both when it is time to certify and digitally sign your eForm 4. Dealers cannot recover your ATF login credentials or PIN for you.

Step-by-Step: Creating Your Silencer Shop Account

  1. Go to the Stonebridge Gunworks Silencer Shop dealer page.
  2. Click Sign In / Create Account.
  3. Select Create Account.
  4. Enter your email address and create a password.
  5. Complete your profile with your full legal name, date of birth, residential address, and phone number.
  6. Select your registration type. Most first-time buyers use Individual or Trust.
  7. Submit fingerprints and upload a passport-style photo.
  8. Select Stonebridge Gunworks, LLC as your local Silencer Shop dealer.

A Silencer Shop kiosk may be used for fingerprint submission. If you are using a kiosk, log in or scan your email QR code at the kiosk to connect your fingerprints to your Silencer Shop account.

Step-by-Step: Creating Your ATF eForms Account

  1. Go to ATF eForms.
  2. Click Register.
  3. Create your username, password, and security questions.
  4. Enter your personal information exactly as it appears in your Silencer Shop account.
  5. Confirm your account through the email verification process.
  6. Write down or securely save your ATF eForms User ID.
  7. Create and securely save your 4-digit ATF PIN.

Critical reminder: Your name, email address, and physical address should match your Silencer Shop account exactly, including spelling, punctuation, and abbreviations.
