Keren 22 — Shorter, Lighter, and 4–6 dB Quieter Than the Katan
The Keren is what happens when a suppressor company stops adding and starts subtracting. At 2.5–2.8 oz and 3.7 inches, it is the most compact can Stealth Additive Works builds for .22 — and in the maker’s own testing on a Taurus TX-22, it measured 4–6 dB quieter at the muzzle than the Katan. That is a big jump in a class where most gains come a fraction of a dB at a time, and it comes while giving up length and weight rather than adding it.
Why the Keren Stands Out
- Quieter than the Katan by 4–6 dB. Measured at the muzzle on a Taurus TX-22. The Katan is already one of the best-performing rimfire cans we have run — the Keren beats it.
- 2.5–2.8 oz. Roughly the weight of a loaded .22 magazine. Your host still balances and points the way it was built to.
- 3.7 inches, about 3.3 inches added. Short enough to keep a pistol holsterable-adjacent and a rifle handy, instead of turning it into a boat oar.
- 3D-printed Grade 5 (ELI) titanium. Grown as one piece, not stacked baffles — strong, corrosion-proof, and the reason a can this quiet can weigh this little.
- Boosterless on 5.7. The Keren’s weight and length were chosen so tilting-barrel 5.7×28 pistols can cycle without a booster.
- Rimfire full-auto and FRT rated. No barrel restriction on rimfire.

Rated Calibers & Limits
- .22 LR — its home caliber. Full-auto and FRT rated with no barrel-length restriction. This is what the Keren was designed around.
- 5.7×28mm — semi-auto only. Rated to 50 rounds per minute with a 4-inch minimum barrel. Not FRT rated. Sized to run boosterless on tilting-barrel 5.7 pistols; cycling is possible but there are too many host and ammunition variables for anyone to guarantee it on every gun.
- .223 Remington / 5.56×45 — strictly limited. 16-inch minimum barrel, 10 rounds per minute maximum rate of fire.
- Not rated for .22 ARC, .22 Creedmoor, or any rifle caliber other than .223/5.56.
Heat management matters. A can this light heats up fast. If the Keren ever starts to glow, stop firing and let it cool. Rate-of-fire discipline is the price of carrying almost nothing on your muzzle — respect the ratings above and it will last.

Care & Cleaning
- .22 LR runs dirty. Plan on periodic cleaning. CCI Clean-22 helps hold lead build-up down, though uncoated bullets are perfectly fine.
- Titanium is forgiving. It is highly corrosion-resistant and compatible with every common suppressor cleaning solution. Ask us about the DIY cleaning-solution recipe — it works and it is cheap.
NFA item. The Keren is an ATF-regulated silencer and requires an approved transfer before you can take it home — though as of 2026 the tax stamp itself is $0. We file the paperwork with you here in the shop and walk you through every step.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will it fit my .22?
Almost certainly. The Keren uses the standard 1/2×28 rimfire thread, so it goes straight onto the M&P 22X, a Ruger 10/22, a Taurus TX-22, and virtually any 1/2×28 .22 host.
How much quieter is it than the Katan, really?
4–6 dB at the muzzle in Stealth Additive Works’ own TX-22 testing. In this class that is a large margin, and the Keren does it while being shorter and lighter than the Katan.
Can I run it on a 5.7 or a 5.56?
Within its ratings, yes. 5.7×28 is semi-auto rated to 50 rounds per minute with a 4-inch minimum barrel and is not FRT rated. 5.56 requires a 16-inch minimum barrel and no more than 10 rounds per minute. Nothing else in rifle calibers is approved.
Does it need a booster on a 5.7 pistol?
It was designed not to. The Keren’s weight and length target boosterless cycling on tilting-barrel 5.7 pistols, but host and ammunition variation means no one can promise it on every gun.
Do I need a tax stamp?
You need an approved ATF Form 4 transfer, but as of 2026 the tax on it is $0. Same paperwork, no transfer tax.
