Paperwork is the whole business.
Our fee is the same whatever your items sell for. That's the only reason to believe a dealer when he tells you what something is worth.
- We don't buy your items or take them into inventory.
- We don't broker a sale, consign it, or take a percentage.
- We don't find you a buyer we have a stake in.
- We never take possession of anything before ATF approves.
- We never hold your eForms login or enter your PIN.
What we do
Fixed prices, quoted before you commit
You bring the other party. We bring the paperwork. After the screener we confirm your quote and email an invoice; nothing is owed until you approve it.
Trust Migration
Bought suppressors or SBRs in your own name? Moving them into a trust lets your spouse legally possess them and keeps your family out of an estate filing later. One signer, usually approved in days to weeks. No trust yet? MoKan Gun Trusts drafts one and we pick up the day it's signed.
Transfer to someone you already know
A sale or gift between two people in the same state. We send the recipient a checklist, pull the item from the registry so the description is right, and run a 20-minute signing session. Payment stays between you two.
Successor trustee sales
A successor trustee selling items out of a deceased grantor’s trust, on a Form 4, to a beneficiary, a buyer, or another existing trust. We take these case by case, and we tell you plainly when a lawyer needs to see the trust first.
Items registered on paper before about 2014 usually need a control-number request to ATF first: add $50 and a few weeks. Machine guns still carry ATF's $200 transfer tax.
How it works
Five steps, and you keep your own login
Screener
Five minutes, free. Who holds the item, who's receiving it, and what state you're each in.
Authority check
When a trust is unclear or someone has died, an attorney at MoKan Gun Trusts settles it before anyone signs.
Documents
Control numbers on old stamps, plus the recipient's Form 5320.23, photo and fingerprints.
Filing and signing
Built in your eForms account, checked item by item, signed on a screen share. You type your own PIN.
Approval
Control numbers the same day. The item changes hands only after ATF approves, directly between you.
Free screener
Find out which lane you're in
Answer a few questions and you'll see which form applies, what it costs, and whether you need us at all. Plenty of people find out they don't.
The screener needs JavaScript. You can also email [email protected] and we'll walk you through it.
Questions
What people usually ask
Do you buy suppressors, or take a cut when I sell?
No. We prepare and file the paperwork for a fixed fee. What you get for your items is between you and whoever you sell them to, so our opinion of what they're worth has nothing riding on it.
I heard suppressors don't need registration any more. Does that apply to mine?
Not to anything already registered. A federal court order in August 2026 changed how some new suppressors are sold. It didn't delete anyone's registration or create a way off the registry. If your item came with an approved tax stamp, it still moves on a transfer application.
Is the transfer tax really $0?
Yes, since January 1, 2026, for suppressors, short-barreled rifles and shotguns, and AOWs. Machine guns are still $200. The tax changed; the paperwork didn't.
Will you have my eForms login or PIN?
No. We build the applications on a screen share in your account while you're there, and you type your own user ID and PIN. We never store credentials or sign for you.
I can't find the tax stamps.
That's fixable. We request the control numbers from ATF, which takes a few weeks. On older stamps the number is often hidden under the stamp itself anyway.
Can you find a buyer and sell them for me?
No. We'll tell you honestly where these sell and which items are worth filing on at all. Once you've found the person, the paperwork is ours.
I'm moving out of state. What do I need?
Short-barreled rifles and shotguns, machine guns and destructive devices need an approved Form 5320.20 before they cross the state line. Suppressors and AOWs don't. Your new state still has to allow them.
I want to sell an SBR. Is there an easier way?
Often, yes. Put a 16-inch barrel on it and ask ATF to remove it from the registry. Then it sells like any other rifle, with no transfer application or wait.
When it's a legal question
Some answers belong to a lawyer, and we'll say so
Who may sign for a trust, whether a trust lets you give an item away, what an executor has to do: those are legal questions. When the screener finds one, we introduce you to MoKan Gun Trusts before anything is filed, and we send them your file so you only tell the story once. They bill you directly.
